WellStride Privacy Policy

        The short version: Your health data never leaves your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal information. Period.
    

1. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information. WellStride does not have user accounts, servers, or cloud storage. All data stays on your iPhone.

2. Health Data

WellStride reads the following data from Apple Health (HealthKit) with your explicit permission:

Heart rate variability (HRV)
Resting heart rate
Heart rate
VO2 Max
Sleep analysis (duration, stages)
Step count
Walking speed and gait metrics
Active energy burned
Flights climbed
Distance walked/run

This data is processed entirely on your device to calculate your Recovery Score, Functional Age, and personalized workout recommendations. It is never transmitted to any server, third party, or external service.

WellStride may write heart rate measurements (from the camera-based heart rate feature) and completed workout data back to Apple Health with your permission.

3. Camera

WellStride uses your iPhone's rear camera and flash solely for the optional heart rate measurement feature. The camera captures video frames that are processed in real-time on your device to detect your pulse. No photos, video, or images are ever captured, stored, or transmitted. Camera data exists only in temporary memory during the measurement and is immediately discarded.

4. Motion Sensors

WellStride uses your iPhone's accelerometer for the optional fall detection feature. Accelerometer data is processed in real-time on your device and is never stored or transmitted.

5. Data Storage

Your preferences, workout history, Recovery Score history, and Functional Age data are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults). This data is included in your iCloud backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, subject to Apple's iCloud privacy practices.

6. Third-Party Services

WellStride does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. There are no SDKs, pixels, or trackers of any kind in the app.

7. In-App Purchases

WellStride offers a one-time premium purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information. All purchase transactions are handled by Apple subject to Apple's privacy policy.

8. Children's Privacy

WellStride is designed for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
